The backstory.
Matt’s venture career began at Greenspring Associates, where he evaluated LP commitments to top venture firms like Accel and Bessemer, and co-invested in startups including Workrise and Phathom Pharmaceuticals. Not a bad track record.
Fast forward a few years, Matt found himself at a family office and then at MassVentures, the public venture arm of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Fast forward to today, Matt harnesses his unique perspectives to bolster TVP’s status as the signal investor of bitcoin-only venture capital. And we’re very happy to have him.
The Bitcoin story.
At just 10 years old, Matt’s passion for reading and contrarian thinking was sparked by a family member who introduced him to the Austrian School of Economics. He devoured works by Hazlitt, Hayek, Friedman, and Sowell, and in college, he even wrote a paper advocating for the gold standard. We call him the mad professor. But it wasn’t until 2019, when he began his journey “down the Bitcoin rabbit hole” that he truly found his calling. Matt’s relentless pursuit of knowledge and self-improvement has led him past the famed 10,000-hour mark, making him a true expert in the field. Phew.
