Federations Lead

Job Overview

You’re the DRI for getting thousands of healthy, sustainable federations into the wild – fast. You’ll design the playbook, hit the numbers, and coordinate the “hands and feet” in Communities with the “brains” across Product, Engineering, and Ops to remove blockers and grow adoption.

This is a builder role for a senior operator who is equal parts GTM strategist and pipeline owner, comfortable talking about Bitcoin, privacy, and community-owned finance—and relentless about targets.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Federations Lead to accelerate the expansion of federations infrastructure across the world. Your mission is simple and bold: grow them. Make them thrive.

You will own the Federations vertical end-to-end. That means discovering what works, scaling it globally, removing blockers, and collaborating across teams to unlock new models of growth. You will lead our federation models strategy and implementation, incentive programs–including pricing and fee structures and rewards programs–plus future federation types as they launch.

This role requires a hybrid operator: a business builder who understands sales funnels and pipeline health, and who can also confidently engage in conversations about Bitcoin and freedom-preserving technologies built to empower communities. You should feel comfortable working with Engineering on requirements, coordinating cross-functional execution, and reporting clearly on progress to targets.

You should have at least 6 years of experience building and scaling business programs or product growth initiatives, with 3–4 years specifically in fintech, crypto, payments, or community-driven technology.

Key Responsibilities

Own Federation Growth Numbers

• Set quarterly OKRs, forecasts, and budgets; run a tight funnel with stage definitions, SLAs, and exit criteria.
• Hold weekly pipeline reviews; enforce data hygiene and next-action clarity.
• Define KPIs, e.g.: lead→live cycle time, cost to launch, MAU/guardian, liquidity throughput.
• Maintain real-time dashboards; turn ecosystem signals and field feedback into roadmap inputs.

Cross-functional Execution

• Partner with Product and Engineering to specify requirements, triage issues, and land fixes to unblock launches.
• Orchestrate with Communities (the field team) to execute the playbook on the ground.
• Coordinate with On/Off-Ramps and Gateway operators to guarantee usable rails at launch.

Growth & monetization models

• Design and iterate pricing, fee, and rewards programs that align incentives for guardians and users.
• Standardize OG federation onboarding and certification; define QA and acceptance checks.

New federation types & GTM

• Build the GTM for future federation models and priority verticals; segment, target, and message with Marketing.
• Land lighthouse deployments; convert wins into case studies and reference flows.

Partner Engagement

• Identify and deliver projects that activate high-potential partnerships to support federation decentralization, such as Lightning gateway operators, Stable Balance liquidity providers, Bitcoinmints and hosting partners.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years in business development, growth, or program leadership roles, 3–4 years in fintech, Bitcoin, crypto, financial inclusion, or community tech initiatives.
• Proven experience as a DRI for targets/OKRs with cross-team orchestration.
• Demonstrated ability to launch and scale new programs or products.
• Strong understanding of Bitcoin, privacy tech, and community-owned finance.
• Analytical mindset with mastery of pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting.
• Excellent communication skills in English (other languages a plus).
• Comfortable working autonomously and traveling internationally as needed.
• Passion for decentralization and empowering real people, not abstract user profiles.
