Agentic Engineer (AI Systems & Automation)

Remote

Company Overview

Fedi empowers communities everywhere so they can secure and use their money and data with Fedimint. We connect the most fundamental human technology — community — with freedom technologies, like bitcoin, to level up humanity. As a Security & DevOps Engineer at Fedi, you’ll have the opportunity to be part of this exciting, life-changing journey and help us empower communities around the world.

Role Overview

At Fedi, our mission is simple but bold: to empower humanity with freedom technology. We build on Bitcoin, Lightning, and Fedimint to help communities secure and use their money and data.

We’re looking for an Agentic Engineer to join Fedi on a fixed-term contract to dramatically accelerate how we build, ship, and maintain software.

This is a highly specialised role focused on applying AI and agentic workflows to real engineering problems. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, using AI agents and automation to resolve bugs, ship improvements, and increase development velocity across the Fedi codebase.

The goal of this role is not just output, it’s transformation. By the end of your engagement, you will have transformed how we build: introducing systems, workflows, and tooling that allow us to operate faster, with higher leverage.

This role is ideal for someone already operating at the edge of AI-assisted development — running multi-agent workflows, automating large parts of the development lifecycle, and consistently shipping at 5–10x the speed of traditional approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Agentic Development: Design and operate AI-driven workflows (multi-agent systems, automation pipelines) to accelerate development across the codebase.
  • Bug & Issue Resolution: Systematically work through GitHub issues, bugs, and improvements at high speed using AI-assisted workflows.
  • System Acceleration: Increase development velocity by introducing tools, processes, and architectures that reduce manual effort
  • Codebase Contribution: Ship fixes, improvements, and small features across the stack with a bias toward speed and pragmatism.
  • Workflow Design: Build repeatable systems for testing, debugging, and shipping using AI agents.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Leave behind clear systems, tooling, and documentation so the team can continue operating at a higher velocity after your contract ends.

Requirements

  • AI-Native Engineer: Deep experience using AI tools (agents, code generation, automation) as a core part of your development workflow.
  • Proven Leverage: Demonstrated ability to significantly outperform traditional development speed using AI-assisted approaches.
  • Full-Stack Capability: Comfortable working across frontend, backend, and scripting environments.
  • Systems Thinker: Able to design workflows and architectures that improve how teams build, not just what they build.
  • Autonomy: Highly independent — able to identify problems, prioritize, and execute without constant direction.
  • Fast Execution: Strong bias toward shipping and iterating quickly.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience building or operating multi-agent systems in production or near-production environments.
  • Familiarity with developer tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
  • Experience working in startups or high-velocity environments.
  • Familiarity with Bitcoin, Lightning Network, or Fedimint.
  • DevRel or developer-facing experience (demos, documentation, hackathons).
  • Some experience with Rust.

Note

When applying, please include examples of your previous work and any projects related to the above that you have been involved in.
